In order to ensure the safety of blood use during the epidemic prevention period and alleviate the current clinical blood shortage caused by the impact of the epidemic in Yiwu City, on the morning of May 2nd, the Yiwu National Unity and Progress Promotion Association organized some members to participate in a free blood donation activity at the Yiwu Blood Station, with more than 10 members from Miao, Tujia, Hui, Zhuang and other ethnic groups participating.
At the blood collection site, the medical staff of the blood station patiently popularized the precautions for blood donation, blood donation process, benefits of blood donation, and free blood donation return policies to promote the membership volunteers of the association. Everyone carefully filled in their personal information, registered for physical examinations, and organized the entire blood donation process in an orderly manner. Zhu Xiaoya, President of the Association for the Promotion of the People’s Republic of China, stated that upon learning about the decrease in unpaid blood donation and collection volume on the streets and groups of Yiwu Blood Station due to the epidemic, the council immediately mobilized members of all ethnic groups in Yiwu to actively participate in unpaid blood donation activities. Everyone responded warmly and signed up to participate. Some members were unable to participate in this blood donation due to physical reasons, but they all stated that they will definitely adjust their status and actively sign up for the next blood donation.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the Yiwu National Unity and Progress Promotion Association has actively organized and carried out a series of heartwarming activities for national unity, such as checkpoint visits and condolences, enterprise resumption of work and production, road guidance and passage, and voluntary blood donation for public welfare, to play an active role in assisting the epidemic prevention and control work in Yiwu.
