According to the latest production express data of Zhoushan Port in Ningbo, the container throughput in April exceeded 3 million TEUs, a record high in a single month, with a year-on-year increase of over 10% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of over 12%.
Since April, in the face of the complicated and severe situation, Zhoushan Port in Ningbo, with the strong support of the port department, has paid close attention to the prevention and control of epidemic situation and transportation guarantee, and made joint efforts with the preferential policies for logistics guidance issued by local governments, greatly alleviating the export difficulties of foreign trade enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
In terms of land, Zhoushan Port in Ningbo strictly implemented the epidemic prevention and control measures, and issued the electronic version of the “Harbour Group Epidemic Prevention Pass” as a voucher for the province’s road traffic and port entry operations, effectively relieving the congestion of container transportation. At the same time, give full play to the advantages of railway direct access to the port area, increase the density of multiple lines, and ensure the opening of key trains. In April, the business volume of container sea-rail combined transport was 135,000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 32.3%.
In terms of sea direction, Zhoushan Port in Ningbo has strengthened its linkage with shipping enterprises, and met the demand for increased shipping space and empty containers brought about by logistics transshipment by opening new routes, increasing shipping space and adjusting empty containers. In April, the number of container routes in Hong Kong increased to 297, a record high; The volume of imported empty containers increased by 50% year-on-year. At the same time, relying on the mature river-sea and Haihe multimodal transport system, enterprises and freight forwarders are helped to dock related businesses, and foreign trade enterprises are guaranteed to deliver goods in time. The export heavy containers of Zhapu, Wenzhou, Taizhou and other feeder lines have achieved double-digit growth.
Zhoushan Port in Ningbo has also tapped the potential to improve efficiency, maximized the use of coastline resources in Hong Kong, and scientifically arranged the berths and berthing time of ships. Each terminal unit accurately judges the production situation, dynamically adjusts the container loading plan and operation resources, effectively improves the utilization rate of the yard and equipment, maintains the efficient operation of the terminal, and helps the average daily operation number of container terminals in Hong Kong to remain above 140. Externally, strengthen communication with port departments such as maritime affairs, customs, border inspection, etc., further reduce the waiting time and non-operation time of ships and customs clearance time of goods, and effectively improve the port capacity.
In view of the explosion situation caused by the sharp increase in the business volume of LCL warehouses around the port area, Zhoushan Port of Ningbo contacted 13 LCL warehouse enterprises with customs supervision qualifications at the first time to open a green channel for export LCL pre-entry, allowing qualified containers to enter the port in advance.
“After the introduction of the new policy, the turnover efficiency and operational capacity of our LCL warehouse have been greatly improved, the daily LCL capacity has increased by more than 30%, and the waiting time for bulk vehicles to unload has been reduced by more than 24 hours.” Long Xing logistics related person in charge said.
