In the extremely elegant Song Dynasty, the cultural life and spirit of the Song people formed a unique meaning-Song Yun.
Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology has always played a unique role in the research and inheritance of “Song Yun”. In order to make the Millennium Song Yun “flow” and “pass on” in the new era, the New Year’s Eve exhibition “Song Yun-the Spiritual World of Scholar-officials” jointly created by Zhejiang Provincial Museum and Nanjing Museum recently opened in Nanjing Museum, showing the new archaeological discoveries of Zhejiang Song Dynasty in recent years.
Among the many exhibits, six objects are from Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology. They are: the rhinoceros-picking scroll pen tube unearthed in Zicheng Lane, Hangzhou in 2015; In 2015, the stone-belt eye column unearthed from the Song Tomb in Taoyuan Ridge copied the hand-written inkstone and stone truth; In 2018, the black glazed rabbit hat unearthed from the site of Guangxiaoming Yinsi Temple in Lin ‘an District, Hangzhou; In 2019, Longquan kiln green glaze hexagonal landscape basin unearthed from Deshou Palace site in Hangzhou; In 2019, Longquan kiln green glaze kiln unearthed from Huangjiahe tomb in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou.
Scholars in Song Dynasty had a rich cultural life besides studying, reciting poems and painting. These artifacts are excellent proof. In the Song Dynasty, under the relaxed cultural atmosphere, literati and officialdom not only had the ideal and enthusiasm of taking the world as their responsibility, but also had elegant and exquisite aesthetic interest; There is not only the spirit of home and country, but also the sense of hardship, and the pursuit of literary life and ritual and music civilization has not stopped. Their extremely rich spiritual world is worth tracing and inheriting.
