In 2022, the cultural relics work in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will focus on welcoming, promoting, and implementing the main line of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, actively coordinating the relationship between cultural relics protection and utilization, inheritance and development, and focusing on the educational function and public cultural service role of cultural relics resources. Efforts will continue to be made from six aspects. One is to make full use of propaganda positions such as cultural and museum institutions at all levels to rise the tide of learning and implementing the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and demonstrate the effectiveness of learning and implementation. The second is to strengthen the protection of cultural relics, promote the implementation of key projects in the three-year plan for the maintenance of cultural relics and buildings in 2022, initiate the selection and application of the sixth batch of autonomous region level cultural relics protection units, and promote the basic work of applying for cultural heritage at the Liao Shangjing and Zuling sites, the Hongshan Cultural Site Group, the Yinshan Rock Carvings, and the Wanli Tea Road (Inner Mongolia section). Thirdly, taking major cultural relics projects such as the Great Wall, the Yellow River National Cultural Park, the National Archaeological Site Park, and the protection of historical and traditional villages as entry points, we will leverage the important role of cultural relics resources in enhancing urban cultural taste, improving living environment, and promoting cultural tourism integration. The fourth is to adhere to the main line of forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation, focusing on creating the image of the Chinese nation and symbols of Chinese culture, and supporting and promoting the “Hometown of the Great Wall both inside and outside” and “The Yellow River Flows Through the Grassland – Exhibition of Ancient Civilizations in the Inner Mongolia Yellow River Basin” to carry out tour activities inside and outside the region. The Implementation Opinions of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Promoting the Reform and Development of Museums have been issued, promoting the exhibition arrangement of a number of newly built museums such as the Hulunbuir Historical Museum, and guiding the construction of the Great Xing’an Mountains Natural Ecology Museum and the Yellow River Cultural Museum. The fifth is to deeply explain the formation process of the diversified and integrated pattern of Chinese civilization through the “Archaeological China” major project, and continuously strengthen the construction of archaeological capabilities and teams. The sixth is to strengthen the foundation of cultural relic safety, focusing on the three major risks of legal entity violations, theft, and fire accidents, increasing supervision and inspection efforts, compacting local main responsibilities, effectively preventing major cultural relic safety accidents, and building a solid bottom line, red line, and lifeline for cultural relic safety.
