Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance announced the first batch of national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities and national cultural and tourism consumption pilot cities, including 15 national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities and 60 pilot cities. Wenzhou was successfully selected as the first batch of national cultural and tourism consumption pilot cities.
In recent years, the Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government has attached great importance to the development of culture and tourism, constantly consolidating the foundation of the development of cultural tourism industry and constantly stimulating the potential of cultural and tourism consumption. At present, the city has 68 public museums, 12 libraries, 88 city study rooms, 210 cultural stations, 21 scenic spots with 4A level and above, 2 leisure resorts above the provincial level, 23 hotels with four-star level and above, and 3 national key rural tourism villages. A series of cultural and tourism infrastructures with complete categories, high quality and rich connotations, such as 1 national rural tourism boutique route, 4 national red tourism classic scenic spots and 1 national red tourism boutique route. At the same time, Wenzhou actively implements the integration of scenic spots and cities, and solidly promotes the scenic spot project of “thousands of villages, hundreds of towns and ten cities”: at present, 1,013 scenic spots have been created (including 199 3A-level scenic spots), 61 scenic spots (townships and streets) above 3A-level and 7 scenic spots above 3A-level; Liu Bowen’s hometown scenic spot is listed in the national 5A-level scenic spot and included in the first batch of future scenic spot reform pilots in the province. Oujiang landscape poetry road and Oujiang night tour, Tanghe night painting “global night tour” and other brands are well-known throughout the country; “Qiaojiale” B&B brand is listed as one of the three regional brands of Zhejiang B&B.
Since last year, in the face of the adverse impact of the sudden COVID-19 epidemic on the cultural tourism economy, Wenzhou has acted quickly, insisted on playing a good first move and played an active battle: it organized five major actions: market recovery, brand marketing, industrial investment, rural tourism, and urban leisure. Cities and counties have continued to carry out more than 100 marketing and promotion activities such as “Visit Thousands of Villages, Stay Thousands of Nights”, “Ten Cities Join Hands and Visit Wenzhou in Villages” and 2020 Wenzhou Tourism Purchasing Conference of 100 National Travelers, Wenzhou Rural Tourism Culture Festival, Self-driving Tourism Culture Festival, Night Travel Consumption Season and Qingdeng Market, so as to accelerate the recovery of the cultural tourism market. At the same time, seize the opportunity to restart inter-provincial tourism, and go to the Yangtze River Delta, Haixi and other regional cities to carry out marketing and promotion activities at the first time, focusing on the Yangtze River Delta tourist market, launching the Yangtze River Delta PASS (Shanghai Temperature Edition) application, joining the Yangtze River Delta Red Cultural Tourism Regional Alliance, and leveraging the platform of Shanghai Tourism Festival, Nearly 30 Wenzhou-specific “cultural tourism feasts” were sent out, including the Yangtze River Delta famous artists entering Wenzhou, the Yangtze River Delta Dining Table Plan, the Yangtze River Delta Red Alliance Red Car Parade, and the Yangtze River Delta Thousand-member Group in Wenzhou, go on road trip, which set off an upsurge of “Wenzhou Tour” in an all-round way, making Wenzhou successfully selected as the “Best Cultural Tourism Integration City in the Yangtze River Delta” and effectively promoting the rapid recovery and recovery of the city’s cultural tourism consumer market. The data shows that in the first three quarters of 2020, the total number of tourists received and the total tourism revenue realized in Wenzhou were 77.9682 million and 82.859 billion yuan, respectively, recovering to 78.65% and 79.22% in the same period of 2019, ranking the top two in the province. A series of powerful measures and dazzling figures have laid a solid foundation for Wenzhou to become a “national cultural and tourism consumption pilot city”.
