On the afternoon of May 25th, the foundation of the Sino Japanese Youth Exchange Center Building of Zhejiang University was laid in the planned northern living area of Zijingang Campus. The “Center” was donated by Mr. Cao Qiyong, Vice President of the China Overseas Chinese Investment Enterprise Association and Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Yongxin Enterprise Group, with a contribution of 20 million yuan, to help young students from China and Japan learn together, deepen understanding, and promote friendly exchanges between Chinese and Japanese youth. The building is located in the north of Zijingang Campus, with 11 floors planned for construction. The fifth floor and above are the Sino Japanese Youth Exchange Center, and the first to fourth floors are the activity exchange venues and reading rooms. Jin Deshui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, Zhang Tuqiao, Vice President, Cao Qiyong, his younger brother Cao Qidong, and their family members, Tang Lilu, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Head of the United Front Work Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Zhang Weiwen, Former Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Ruan Zhongxun, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Zhejiang Province, jointly laid the foundation for the “Center”. The foundation stone laying ceremony was presided over by Vice President Si Jianmin of Zhejiang University.
