On July 13th, the “Ordos Folk Culture Exhibition in the Bend of the Yellow River”, co sponsored by the Taizhou Museum and the Ordos Museum, was exhibited in the temporary exhibition hall on the first floor of the Taizhou Museum. The exhibition will continue until September 12th.
Ordos, like a bright pearl at the northernmost corner of the Yellow River, is embedded in the beautiful Inner Mongolia prairie just north of the motherland. Since ancient times, the nomadic civilization and agricultural civilization in northern China have had long-term exchanges and exchanges in Ordos, inheriting the roots of excellent traditional Chinese culture, integrating the diverse characteristics of Eastern and Western cultures, forming the historical and cultural characteristics of Ordos with the integration and development of the three major cultures of the Yellow River, the Great Wall, and the grassland, forming a unique Ordos folk culture, and becoming an important “living fossil” in the long history and culture of the Yellow River.
This exhibition includes two units: “Integrating Multivariate Grassland Historical Tales” and “Integrating Wind and Unique Customs”. A total of 146 pieces (sets) of related cultural relics are displayed, covering the ancient production traditions, living in felt tents, inheritance of medicine and health, competitive game entertainment, singing and dancing praise and lyricism, a collection of folk customs and etiquette, and the charm of costume art in Ordos. I hope that the vast number of citizens and friends can fully experience the unique charm of Ordos folk culture at their doorstep through such a north-south exchange exhibition. (Taizhou Museum)
