According to the plan, the museum will start construction at the end of this year and be put into use before the 2022 Asian Games at the earliest.
China computer federation is the largest trade organization in the computer field in China, with 47,000 members, and its scale and influence rank third in the world computer organization. “Hangzhou is a comprehensive experimental zone in cross-border electronic commerce and the first pilot city for sharing government information resources and business collaboration in China, which is very suitable for building a computer museum.” China computer federation Secretary-General Du Zide said.
The computer museum in Xiaoshan has a construction area of 29,000 square meters. Upon completion, the museum will become the only national-level large-scale museum in the domestic computer field, and become a permanent exhibition center for the history of computer development, a learning and exchange center for computer professionals, a gathering point and release place for new ideas of experts in the industry, and a display and experience base for new computing technologies and applications. At the same time, “the computer museum will also give full play to its resource, supporting and guiding role, help Hangzhou and Xiaoshan to comprehensively lay out leading high-tech industries, and cultivate and develop leading industries such as industrial big data, biomedicine, media culture and new energy and new materials.” The main person in charge of Xiaoshan District Government said.
