Create a red repertoire and sing red melodies
With the creation and performance of works and artistic practice as the carrier, give full play to the professional characteristics of the discipline, and move the study and education of party history into the concert hall and the big stage. More than 40 teachers and students of the Department of Vocal Opera participated in the key support works of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s “Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China Stage Art Excellence Creation Project” and the key support play “Red Boat” of the “Chinese National Opera Inheritance and Development Project”. The School of Music Education held the “Mao Zedong Poetry Art Song Concert”, selecting 16 highly artistic poems and songs such as “Caisangzi Chongyang”, “Seven Laws – Long March”, “Bu Shuzi Yongmei” and “Qinyuan Spring Snow”, which interpreted the burning years of passion and the magnificent history of the Chinese revolution, allowing teachers and students to feel the ups and downs of the Communist Party of China along the way, and understand the original intention and mission of the Chinese Communists. Focusing on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, the creation of large-scale symphonic chorus “Qianjiang Chao”, the national instrumental work “Chinese Music Yong China”, the vocal choral suite “National Soul”, the vocal works “Stars Shine in the East” and “Greatness” have been carried out, and red art has been used to educate, enlighten, influence and inspire people.
Tell red stories and pass on red genes
We should firmly grasp the main channels and positions such as ideological and political theory courses and professional main courses, and integrate the study and education of party history into the curriculum and into the classroom. The School of Marxism carries out “one lecture per lesson” of Party history content in the ideological and political theory course of the whole school, allowing students to independently choose works of art related to the content of Party history and lecture, recite or sing in groups, so as to realize the deep integration of Party history learning with ideological and political education and professional education. Closely relying on brands such as “ideological and political lessons in the concert hall”, the “Party History Course in the Concert Hall” activity with the titles of “Carry forward the spirit of the Red Boat and Never Forget the original intention of the founding of the Party” and “The Status and Role of Music in Military Struggle” will be carried out, vividly telling the background, profound connotation, historical status and contemporary value of the “Red Boat Spirit”, and deeply explaining the exciting years and moving stories behind military music. The Department of Dance launched a series of special lectures entitled “Dance History Sees the Party’s Heart”, which placed dance history in the perspective of Party history and observed, so that Party history learning and education and dance history study were integrated throughout, and the Party history was illuminated by the history of dance and the Party heart was seen by the history of dance. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences launched a series of themed activities entitled “100 Red Songs in 100 Years to Narrate Party History”, and educated and guided teachers and students to carry forward the national spirit with patriotism as the core by telling the stories of the creation of red classic songs such as “My Favorite Top Ten Anti-Japanese War Songs”.
Use living red resources to continue the red spirit
Carry out a series of themed party day activities of “Learning Party History Along the Red Footprint”, relive the oath of joining the party, and retrace the glorious course. Lead the majority of teachers and party members to carry out themed party day activities in the former site group of the anti-Japanese base area in eastern Zhejiang (Simingshan) and the Hangzhou party history study and education base, so as to reminisce about the past and pay homage to the martyrs, continue the red spirit, and inherit the glorious tradition. The counselor growth salon activity was moved to a certain unit stationed in Hangzhou of the People’s Liberation Army of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, and the political instructors of the unit personally gave special party classes to all counselors, telling the thrilling revolutionary story before the founding of the party. Use red resources as vivid teaching materials for Party history learning and education, dig deep into the educational elements contained in them, and strive to create a second classroom for Party history learning. Lead teachers and students into the Hangzhou History Museum of the Communist Party of China, Hangzhou Youth Movement History Museum and other Party history learning and education bases, so that teachers and students can understand the historical changes and vicissitudes that have taken place under the leadership of the Party, and experience the hard-won success of a better life.
