On June 10th, the State Council announced the list of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects, which is a major event in the development of China’s cultural undertakings. The fifth batch of “National Heritage” projects has a total of 325 items on the national list, of which 24 items are listed in our province, ranking first in the country. This is the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects announced by the State Council in 2006. Since then, Zhejiang has ranked first in the number of projects selected for five consecutive times in the country. On the afternoon of June 11th, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism held a press conference. Chu Ziyu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Department, announced that our province was selected as the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects. The press conference was chaired by Ye Jing, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department.

The fifth batch of “national heritage” projects selected by our province include one traditional music, one folk art, two traditional sports, entertainment, and acrobatics, two traditional fine arts, nine traditional skills, three traditional medicine, and six folk customs, totaling 24 items.
