Recently, a photo taken 10 years ago, reflecting the moment when the villagers of North Er Ethnic Village, Hangbu Town, Kecheng District checked the number of votes of the candidate for the election of the village committee, was taken as a vivid witness of China’s grass-roots mass autonomy system and included in the Brief History of Reform and Opening up.
The Brief History of Reform and Opening up was prepared by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, organized by the Central Propaganda Department, as an important reference material for the study and education of the party history of the whole party, and an important book for the publicity and education of the “Four Histories” of the whole society, which was officially published recently.
It is understood that the photo was taken by Tan Jin, a reporter from Xinhua News Agency. From March 15 to 29, 2011, the general election of the village committee, the village affairs supervision committee and the village economic cooperative was held in Beier Village. 1229 villagers with the right to vote cast their solemn votes. This is also the first general election of Beier Village since the implementation of the newly revised Organization Law of the Villagers’ Committee of the People’s Republic of China.
In addition to the photo selected in the “Brief History of Reform and Opening up”, the report at that time also published other photos of the change of office in Beier Village.
“Don’t be too excited, it seems that everything in that year is still vivid!” The villager Zheng Rongfu was the witness of the solemn election in that year, and was also one of the villagers who checked the number of votes of the candidate for the election of the village committee in the photo.
In the past ten years, the North Second National Village has been working hard without waiting for the whip. Under the care and guidance of the provincial, municipal and district departments of the United Front and the people’s religion, it has actively acted, and has been working hard to consolidate and improve the achievements of the “Zhejiang Province National Unity and Progress Well-off Village”. Today, the village has undergone earth-shaking changes. New buildings have sprung up, old people’s happy canteen, farmers’ market, etc. have been put into use, and a large number of projects have been accelerated. The “She Ponkan” brand has gone out of the country and into the world, and the sense of gain and happiness of the minority people has become stronger and stronger.
