Ms. Chen Xiaomin, President of the Zhejiang Branch of the Export-Import Bank of China, introduced the experience of investing in Africa. The forum was attended by 107 African delegates from 43 African countries, including ministers and ambassadors from Mauritania, Madagascar, Lesotho and other countries, as well as officials from relevant Chinese departments and business people, totaling more than 380 people.
This forum is one of the series of activities of the 2010 Zhejiang Business Week in China, with a duration of 3 days, and mainly includes the agenda of the Africa Investment Conference, the enterprise docking negotiation, the ministerial round table and so on. The forum was hosted by Dazhi Road International Holding Group, co-organized by Zhejiang International Investment Promotion Center, and supported by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce. The theme of this forum is: opportunities for investment in Africa and prospects for business cooperation in the post-financial crisis era.
At the African Investment Conference on the 9th, more than 200 Zhejiang enterprises participated in the forum, and more than 120 investment projects had docking consultations at the meeting, with more than 40 initially reaching investment intentions. The enterprises participating in the meeting believed that such an investment briefing focused on the investment information of African countries, with rich content and high level of docking, which greatly enhanced the confidence in investing in Africa, was an investment platform that truly served enterprises, and reflected the importance and support of the government for the “going out” work of enterprises.
The forum will also arrange representatives of African countries to conduct field visits to Zhejiang enterprises. At the ministerial round table of the Forum on September 11, the participants will also sign the Hangzhou Declaration to reach a consensus on cooperation between enterprises and promote economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and Africa.
