Recently, “Endless Castle Peak 3: Special Exhibition of Chinese and Japanese Artists’ Works on the Road of Tang Poetry” was exhibited in Zhejiang Exhibition Hall.
This special exhibition focuses on the new era, echoes ancient and modern times, explores the “chain of poetry roads” of Zhejiang poetry road culture going international, and does a good job in international exchange and communication. By interpreting the eternal Chinese excellent poetic culture, we can write the endless “Road of Tang Poetry”, highlight the profound context of Zhejiang, and further create a “Zhejiang Courtesy” where art blends and learns from each other.
Based on the far-reaching memory of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, the special exhibition revisits the important nodes of Sino-Japanese cultural exchange and communication on the road of Tang poetry, traces back to the eastern civilization on the spot, and continues the spirit of the “poetic road cultural belt”. More than 200 works of art by librarians (researchers) from Zhejiang Literature and History Research Institute, professors from China Academy of Fine Arts, Shizuoka artists from Japan and Tokyo University of the Arts were exhibited.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections: “All the way here”, “Far to the Cold Mountain” and “Crossing the Mountains and Seas”. The works on display not only include traditional China arts such as Chinese painting and calligraphy, but also cover almost all kinds of contemporary arts such as oil painting, video, new media, sound and installation, which blend traditional and modern arts.
It is worth mentioning that two original calligraphy works by Fei Yintong, a eminent monk in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties in China, and Yi Xiuzongchun, a Zen master in Muromachi era in Japan, are exhibited for the first time. Yixiuzongchun is the familiar prototype of “Smart Yixiu”.
