Recently, the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics released the economic operation of Huzhou in the first three quarters of 2020. In the first three quarters, Huzhou achieved a gross regional product (GDP) of 227.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, ranking fourth in the province with Ningbo, up one place from the first half of the year, and achieving the goal of “three quarters of progress”.
The services sector continues to recover. In the first three quarters, the added value of the city’s service industry increased by 3.8% year-on-year, ranking fourth in the province. Among them, the city’s service industry continued to recover. The added value of the financial industry was 20.51 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.3%, which is the fastest growing industry among all industries. The turnover of the accommodation industry and the catering industry decreased by 13.9% and 4.8% respectively year-on-year, up 19.5 and 7.9 percentage points from the first half of the year, respectively, and the growth rate of both indicators ranked first in the province.
The investment structure continues to improve. In the first three quarters, the city’s fixed asset investment increased by 4.2% year-on-year, up 7.2 and 0.7 percentage points from the first quarter and the first half of the year, respectively. Among them, industrial investment increased by 8.2% year-on-year. From the perspective of four structural indicators, private investment increased by 7.0% year-on-year, transportation investment increased by 22.6% year-on-year, investment in high-tech industries increased by 15.8% year-on-year, and investment in ecological environmental protection, urban renewal and water conservancy facilities decreased by 5.5% year-on-year.
Imports and exports are growing rapidly. In the first three quarters, the city’s foreign trade achieved a total import and export volume of 81.60 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.7%, ranking third in the province. Among them, exports were 73.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.5%, ranking second in the province; Imports were 8.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%, ranking sixth in the province.
Consumption continues to recover. In the first three quarters, the total retail sales of consumer goods in the city fell by 2.7%, 2.2 percentage points higher than that of the province and ranked first in the province. Among them, the express delivery business volume was 280 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%; The revenue of express delivery business was 2.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.0%. The city’s online retail sales reached 49.63 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%, ranking third in the province; The online consumption of residents reached 30.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.0%, ranking fourth in the province.
