From January to September, the added value of the core industries of Zhejiang’s digital economy increased by 11% year-on-year, 8.7 percentage points higher than the GDP growth rate in the same period, accounting for 10.7% of GDP, a further increase of 0.7 percentage points over the first half of the year. The digital economy continues to lead Zhejiang’s economy.
Since the beginning of this year, Zhejiang’s digital economy has gone against the trend and the digital industry has accelerated its recovery, becoming an accelerator and driving force for economic recovery and high-quality development under the background of normalization of epidemic prevention and control. In the first three quarters, the added value of the core industries of the digital economy in the province was 489.39 billion yuan, and the growth rate increased rapidly from -1.8% in the first quarter and 9.4% in the first half of the year to 11% in the first three quarters. In the first three quarters, the added value of the manufacturing industry, the core industry of the digital economy in our province, completed an added value of 164.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%, a new high since 2019, respectively, 11.4 percentage points and 5.7 percentage points higher than the provincial industry and the national electronics industry, and contributed more than 60% to the province’s industrial growth.
The strong recovery of the digital economy is positively correlated with its strong ability to innovate. Data show that in the first three quarters, the output value rate of new products in Zhejiang’s digital economy reached 55.1%, 18.9 percentage points higher than that of the province’s industrial level, and the output value rate of new products has exceeded 50% for 60 consecutive months, and a number of innovative achievements continue to emerge. Especially in the period of seizing the strategic opportunity of global industrial chain reconstruction, our province actively promotes the cultivation and growth of emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, 5G, integrated circuits, and software. In the first three quarters, the added value of the new generation information technology industry reached 76.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.9%, 12.7 percentage points higher than the province’s strategic emerging industries, and the contribution rate to the province’s strategic emerging industries reached 45.2%; The added value of artificial intelligence manufacturing increased by 18.6% year-on-year, and the revenue of software business was 508.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%, ranking first in the country.
Seize the window period for new infrastructure development, accelerate the layout of new infrastructure, and lay a solid foundation for the development of the digital economy. Since the beginning of this year, our province has seized the major opportunity of new digital infrastructure, accelerated the launch of key projects, and effectively promoted the rapid growth of communications and other related industries. By the end of September, Zhejiang had completed and delivered 55,000 5G base stations, achieving an investment of 11.8 billion yuan, which promoted the accelerated recovery of Zhejiang’s communication equipment industry. In addition, the National New Internet Exchange Center was officially launched in Zhejiang in June this year, becoming the first new Internet exchange center completed and operated in China.
Our province deepened the promotion of intelligent technology transformation to cover the full coverage, and 9,800 new industrial robots were added in the first half of the year, reaching a total of 98,800 units. As of the third quarter, the province’s “1+N” platform system has developed nearly 30,000 integrated industrial apps, connected more than 49 million industrial equipment products, served more than 110,000 industrial enterprises, and cultivated 210 industry-level, regional and enterprise-level industrial Internet platforms, basically covering ten landmark industrial chains, 17 key traditional manufacturing industries and major block economic industrial agglomeration areas.
