2005
In September, Vice Governor Zhong Shan led a provincial government delegation to visit Fribourg for the first time, met with Peter Dai, the vice governor in charge of economic affairs in the state, and inspected local tourism.
From November 21 to 23, Andre Uebersax, chairman of Fribourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visited Zhejiang on behalf of Vice Governor Peter, called on the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and held talks with the Provincial Small and Medium Enterprises Bureau.
2006
From August 8th to 10th, Fribourg Economy Minister Peter Dai led a delegation of 11 people from the state government to visit Hangzhou. Vice Governor Zhong Shan met and hosted a banquet for the delegation, and signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two provinces and states with Minister Peter Dai. Fribourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry also signed cooperation agreements with the provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the provincial private (private) enterprise association.
2007
In April, Vice Governor Jin Deshui led a delegation to visit Fribourg. The delegation visited the Fribourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the energy training center and hydropower station of E Power Energy Group, and the Cartier Richmond Watch Group of Swiss Black Poetry Group. Vice Governor Jin Deshui introduced Zhejiang’s economic development and energy utilization to Switzerland. Fribourg is very interested in participating in energy-saving projects and new energy development and utilization in our province, especially in technology transfer and cooperative production of heat pump products using geothermal energy.
From June 13th to 18th, Yu Bosen, president of Fribourg State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other two people visited Hangzhou. President Yu Bosen met with Wang Yiner, deputy director of provincial foreign affairs office, and discussed the cooperation projects in 2008, especially the cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine. Met with the Provincial Department of Culture, and held discussions on the coming of the Music School of Fribourg University to Hangzhou in the second half of 2007; During their stay in Zhejiang, President Yu Bosen and his party also visited Changxing.
From October 16th to 21st, a delegation from the University of Fribourg Choir visited Hangzhou and held the “China Zhejiang Music Festival in Fribourg, Switzerland”. On the evening of the 19th, the University of Fribourg Choir and Zhejiang Song and Dance Troupe jointly held a special performance. The Swiss Consulate General in Shanghai sent staff to attend the event.

In late April, Yu Bosen, president of Ruihua Exchange Center in Fribourg, sent a letter to Wang Yiner, deputy director of the provincial foreign affairs office, informing him that Ruihua Exchange Center, whose president was appointed by him, had received the official appointment of Mr. Bitt Vonte, Minister of Economy and Employment in Fribourg, and was responsible for friendly exchanges between Fribourg and China.
From June 7th to 14th, Yu Bosen, president of Ruihua Exchange Center, and his party were invited to visit Hangzhou and Ningbo in our province. In Ningbo, Yu Bosen and his party visited the exhibition hall of the 10th Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair. In Hangzhou, Yu Bosen and his party held talks with the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the Provincial Department of Culture, the Provincial Economic and Trade Commission, the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Provincial University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The two sides had in-depth discussions on the training of “Circular Economy and Ecological Industry” (with the Provincial Economic and Trade Commission), the exchange performance of Landway Symphony Orchestra of Fribourg in Hangzhou in 2009 (with the Provincial Department of Culture), and the Swiss Chinese medicine professionals coming to our province to receive Chinese medicine massage and acupuncture training (with the Provincial University of Traditional Chinese Medicine).
On September 22nd, Wang Yongming, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, led a delegation to visit Fribourg, and met with Ms. Monica, secretary general of the state legislature, Gurdi, deputy secretary general of the state government, and Yu Bosen, president of Ruihua Exchange Center. The two sides had friendly exchanges.
From October 11th to 17th, the first batch of 12 students from Fribourg went to the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in our province for a week-long training in acupuncture, massage and Chinese medicine theory, and visited hospitals and pharmaceutical factories.
From October 26th to 28th, Andrei Riordat, head of Landway Symphony Orchestra in Fribourg, and his five-member delegation visited Hangzhou, visited the Foreign Affairs Office of the province, the Provincial Department of Culture and the Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou, visited the Hangzhou Theater, and held consultations with relevant departments on the orchestra’s performance in Hangzhou in October 2009.

In late March, at the invitation of Bit Vonte, Vice Governor and Minister of Economy and Employment of Fribourg, Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary General, led a delegation of six people from Zhejiang Province to visit Fribourg. Pierre-Andre Bazi, Chairman of the Parliament of Fribourg, and Bite von Lunt, Deputy Governor and Minister of Economy and Employment of Fribourg, met with the delegation respectively. On 25th, Secretary-General Li Qiang and Vice Governor Peter von Lunt signed the Agreement of Establishing Friendly Relations between Zhejiang Province of People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Fribourg State of Swiss Federation. The delegation also met with the mayor and deputy mayor of Fribourg and the chairman of the State Landway Symphony Orchestra, watched the performance of the orchestra specially for the delegation, and visited the enterprises that produce heat pump energy-saving products.
From May 22 to May 28, Yu Bosen, president of Ruihua Exchange Center, and Smyr Al Hilary, an official of the United Nations Industrial Development Agency, and Suellen Erkman, an expert in Swiss industrial circular economics and head of the Department of Environment of Lausanne University visited Zhejiang. On the 25th, Ruan Zhongxun, director of the provincial foreign affairs office, hosted a banquet for the foreign guests.
In mid-May, Ruan Zhongxun, director of the provincial foreign affairs office, wrote an inscription for the brochure of Landway Symphony Orchestra in Fribourg to perform in Hangzhou, wishing Landway Symphony Orchestra a successful performance in Hangzhou in the second half of the year.
