With the theme of “Bridging the Rivers”, this activity invites Chinese and foreign young students to show and share the relationship between rivers and local society, history and culture, so that people can know the relationship between people and water again and arouse everyone’s attention to protecting rivers.
Chen Yongming, director of China Water Conservancy Museum, introduced the background and significance of China Water Conservancy Museum hosting this event in his welcome speech. Then, six young student representatives from China, France, Congo, Bangladesh and other countries made a special presentation on the representative rivers in their respective regions, such as the Yellow River, the Yangtze River, the Loire River and the Ngiri River. They vividly described the important influence of rivers on local social development from the perspectives of history, culture, governance and protection, and made a wonderful comparative study of rivers in groups.
At the event, a jury composed of water culture experts, water conservancy experts and university professors made questions and comments on the young representatives, and awarded the young players the honorary title of “River Messenger”. (yu zhang)
