At 10:38 a.m. on May 12, the 81942 train loaded with 100 standard boxes of solar photovoltaic modules set off at Yiwu West Station and headed for Chuanshan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Photovoltaic products transported by train will be exported to India and other countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road after arriving at Ningbo Zhoushan Port Chuanshan Port.
This is the first sea rail intermodal train from Yiwu to Ningbo Zhoushan Port Chuanshan Port Area opened for shipment, and also the first full journey bill of lading photovoltaic special train from COSCO Shipping in Yiwu, marking that the construction of the “sixth port area” of Yiwu Ningbo Zhoushan Port has pressed the “acceleration key”, and Yiwu Railway Port and Ningbo Zhoushan Port Chuanshan Port Area have achieved “seamless connection”.
This sea rail intermodal train is between Yiwu, the “small commodity capital of the world”, and the container terminal in Chuanshan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, which sets up a fast transport corridor. The train can arrive within 6 hours at the earliest, realizing the “seamless connection” between the railway, port and the international logistics corridor of the Maritime Silk Road, further expanding the port shipping and other service functions to inland areas, enabling Yiwu to issue bills of lading for the whole journey (packing, customs clearance), improving the efficiency of export customs clearance and reducing transport costs. From January to April this year, the sea rail intermodal transport business volume of Yiwu completed 33400 TEUs, with a year-on-year growth of 167.6%.
