On the morning of February 5th, 2021, a series of activities, such as “Jade Rat Walking through the Snow to Send Winter Home, Ru Niu Xian Rui to Welcome Spring”, “Art World, Nature Creation-Han Meilin Art Exhibition” and “I spent the Year of the Ox in the Museum”, started in Lanxi Museum. The activities were sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Lanxi Municipal Committee, the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, co-organized by the Office of New Age Civilization Practice Center and the Municipal Federation of Social Sciences, and undertaken by the Municipal Museum and Hangzhou Hanmeilin Art Museum.
This Art World, Nature Made by Nature-Han Meilin Art Exhibition brings together Mr. Han Meilin’s artistic works with the theme of the Year of the Ox, including 85 pieces/sets of sculptures, paintings, calligraphy, purple sand, ceramics and other treasures, showing the vigorous creativity and appeal of Han Meilin’s art, and bringing a contemporary high-level cultural and artistic “New Year’s Eve dinner” to Lanxi people during the Spring Festival. Han Meilin, born in Jinan, China in 1936, is now a senior professor of liberal arts in Tsinghua University, a librarian in central research institute of culture and history, honorary director of Ceramic Art Committee of China Artists Association, vice president of World Chinese Association and honorary president of China Arts and Crafts Society. He is a tireless pioneer in painting, calligraphy, sculpture, design, public art and other fields, as well as a representative figure in the inheritance and innovation of China’s cultural traditions represented by ceramics and folk art. His works are magnificent and insightful.
At the same time, the series of activities of “I spent the Year of the Ox in the Museum”, which is promoted by Lanxi Museum, was officially opened to the audience. The activities took “the Year of the Ox welcomes the New Year” as the axis, and included the rubbing experience of the Chinese Zodiac and Wadang replicas in the Han Dynasty, DIY hot-stamping red envelopes in the New Year, photo punching on the theme of the Year of the Ox, Han Meilin Wenchuang color painting, calligraphy creation of the Spring Festival couplets and other specific contents, so as to enrich citizens’ cultural life during the Spring Festival, create a strong atmosphere for welcoming the New Year and give full play to
