Researcher Cai Weiming of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences led the team to aim at the weaknesses and pain points of the development of the edible fungus industry, develop and promote new technologies and new models of specialized and centralized production of mushroom sticks, and saved more than 100 million yuan in Wuyi County alone; The research, development and utilization of Aksu fruit branch cultivation technology of Auricularia auricula has been listed as the “million mu billion yuan” poverty alleviation and income increase project locally. Recently, Cai Weiming was praised by the leading group of the National Science and Technology Assisted Targeted Poverty Alleviation Project.
In recent years, the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences has actively explored the mechanism and mode of integration of industry and research, and made efforts to improve the effectiveness of science and technology supporting industry revitalization, so that agriculture can really fly high and far with the wings of science and technology. To this end, the provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences has optimized the discipline layout and formed 22 disciplines and 133 research directions covering crop improvement, green prevention and control, quality safety, agricultural machinery and agronomy integration and big data application. In connection with the regional layout of the province’s agricultural characteristic industries, and in cooperation with the agricultural and scientific and technological departments, more than 100 demonstration bases for the integration of industry and research have been established, basically realizing the full coverage of scientific and technological services in the main production areas.

Focusing on the transformation of production and consumption and the development of leisure agriculture, the rape breeding team of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences has developed a new variety of rape that is suitable for mechanized production, “Zheyou 18”, “Zheyou 80” with oleic acid content comparable to olive oil, “Zheyou 50” with oil content of nearly 50%, and “sells both landscape and products”.
The Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences also encourages scientific and technological personnel to innovate and start their own businesses, and explores new patterns of industry research integration development, such as project-based development, physical development, and commercial development. In view of the dilemma of decreasing cocoon raw materials and quality in the silkworm industry, the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences has cooperated with Shengzhou Babe Group, a leading enterprise in the textile industry, to carry out technical breakthrough, overcome the worldwide problem of artificial feed factory silkworm rearing technology, form the achievement of “full age artificial feed factory silkworm rearing” with multiple technologies, and overturn the traditional silkworm rearing model for thousands of years.
With the growth of Zhejiang agricultural production, operation and innovation entities, the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences actively explored the effective connection between agricultural scientific and technological resources and industrial elements, and built a new functional service platform. Zhejiang Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Park was established, and the “agricultural makers” stationed in the park cooperated more closely with scientific and technological personnel, and fully enjoyed the supply of innovative resources from the provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences. At present, there are more than 80 signed enterprises in the park. It is planned to incubate 100 industrial scientific research projects and more than 300 maker teams within 5 years.
