At the unveiling ceremony, Wei Guotan, the leader of the Secretariat of the Tourism Special Committee, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College, and Chu Ziyu, the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province, delivered speeches respectively.
Sun Shanxue, Vice President of China Association of Vocational and Technical Education, put forward three requirements in his speech. First, he insisted on high-quality development and kept his original intention. We should lead the high-quality reform of tourism vocational education and promote the high-level development of tourism vocational colleges. The second is to adapt to the needs of the new situation and dare to innovate and work hard. We should focus on the structural adjustment, connotation development and quality improvement of vocational education, provide more excellent work cases for China Vocational Education Association, and provide more “China models” for China’s tourism vocational education to go global. Third, strengthen service capabilities and focus on new achievements. In the morning, 19 national famous tourism leaders, experts and scholars were appointed as members of the Expert Steering Committee of the Tourism Special Committee. At present, China is facing an unprecedented scale of skills transformation and career change. She pointed out that the new version of vocational education aims at the direction of technological change and industrial optimization and upgrading by benchmarking the strategic tasks of the National “Fourteenth Five Year Plan” and the Vision Outline for 2035, Focusing on ten major areas, including “supporting the strategy of self-reliance in science and technology, supporting the modern industrial system, helping to build the development pattern of the heart, helping to promote the construction of a cultural power, helping to open up to the outside world at a high level, helping to build a digital China, helping to comprehensively promote rural revitalization, helping to promote green transformation and development, helping to increase middle-income groups, and helping to improve the overall quality of the people”, to adapt to high-quality development.
She believes that the new version of the major of vocational education is a practical measure to enhance the adaptability of vocational education during the “Fourteenth Five Year Plan” period, an important starting point to promote the high-quality development of vocational education during the “Fourteenth Five Year Plan” period, a support for digital, intelligent and green transformation talents, a practical measure to implement the quality improvement and training plan of vocational education, and a basic measure to optimize the orientation of vocational education types and build a vocational education system. The new professional catalog has ten characteristics, including professional connection to new technical posts, new jobs, new business posts, market-oriented needs, neck sticking problems, intelligent production, intelligent management, accurate services, data application, and digital skills. She cited the professional integration link catalog of 19 major categories, 10 new professional construction and innovation scenarios such as “Yuanbaofeng: intelligent breeding scheme”, “CNOOC: unmanned offshore platform”, “Ruitai Masteel: transparent factory”, and 10 digital application scenarios planned in the “14th Five Year Plan” such as “intelligent transportation”, “intelligent energy source” and “intelligent manufacturing”.

China Association for Vocational and Technical Education is a national, academic and non-profit social organization formed voluntarily by enterprises, institutions, social organizations and individuals engaged in vocational and technical education related work. The Tourism Special Committee is a branch of the China Association of Vocational and Technical Education. It is a national, mass and professional education, teaching and academic research group engaged in practical research on tourism vocational education and professional teaching. So far, the Tourism Special Committee has attracted 106 unit members and 176 individual members, including 32 tourism colleges and universities, covering seven regions and 28 provinces.
The goal of the Tourism Professional Committee is to build a “talent pool” that serves the high-quality development of China’s tourism industry and a “think tank” that leads the transformation and upgrading of the tourism industry, integrate advantageous resources, expand exchanges and cooperation, cooperate with teacher training, constantly explore and promote the reform and development of China’s tourism vocational education, and become the leader of tourism vocational education in countries along the “the Belt and Road”, Provide “China Model” for the world tourism vocational education.
The five-year action plan (2021-2025) of the Tourism Special Committee clearly points out that the main tasks of the Special Committee cover academic exchanges, scientific research, professional construction, standard formulation, talent training, social services, etc. During the “Fourteenth Five Year Plan” period, the Tourism Special Committee will formulate and issue at least 8 standards; At least 30 training sessions are held every year in rural tourism, global tourism, cultural tourism integration, cultural tourism IP development and other industries, with more than 50000 trainees; Participated in the guidance of the establishment of nationwide tourism demonstration areas, A-level tourist attractions, tourist resorts, characteristic towns, tourist towns, star rated hotels, and characteristic home stays, and completed no less than 80 industrial enterprise projects every year; Formulate professional standards and curriculum standards for tourism majors from secondary vocational school to higher vocational school to vocational college; Publish at least one industry development report and blue book every year; Every year, about 50 special cases such as tourism vocational education, tourism industry development, cultural and tourism integration are compiled.
In the afternoon, the “Digital Transformation of Tourism Vocational Education” Summit Forum was held. Dai Bin, President of the Chinese Academy of Tourism Studies, Bao Jigang, Director of the Tourism Development and Planning Research Center of Sun Yat sen University, Distinguished Professor of the Yangtze River Scholar, and President of the Tourism Education Branch of the China Tourism Association, respectively delivered keynote reports around the themes of “Digital Enabling Tourism Vocational Education” and “Aztec Plan and Rural Revitalization”. At the “round table forum”, Professor Han Yuling, Secretary General of the National Tourism Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee, Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute, Professor Zhou Chunlin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing Tourism Vocational College, Professor Ni Hongjie, Dean of the Innovation Research Institute of the School of Information Engineering of Zhejiang University of Technology, Chen Xianghong, Chairman of Dingdu Group Co., Ltd., and Jin Hangyong, President of the Business Department of Kaiyuan Hotel Group were on the same stage, To jointly discuss the challenges, opportunities and development direction of tourism vocational education in the context of digital transformation of education.
