From April 7 to 13, Austrian President Van der Belen and Chancellor Courths paid a joint state visit in China. This visit has set two records of Austria’s state visit specifications and scale, and is called “the largest state visit delegation in Austrian history”.
During his visit to China, China and Austria issued the “Joint Statement on Establishing a Friendly Strategic Partnership”. The two sides agreed to further deepen innovation cooperation in the field of science and technology, and promote closer cooperation among innovative forces such as universities and research institutes of the two countries; We will continue to promote cooperation in environmental protection and climate change, and we are willing to continue to strengthen cooperation in environmental pollution control, renewable energy and sustainable urbanization.
This morning, the Austrian Science and Technology Day, organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport Innovation and Technology, the Austrian Scientific Research Promotion Agency and the Austrian Embassy in China, was held in Beijing. Zhejiang Science and Technology Department, as an important partner of Austria, was invited to participate. Wang Jian, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Frey, director of the Business and International Cooperation Department of the Austrian Scientific Research Promotion Agency, signed a memorandum of Zhejiang-Austria scientific and technological cooperation in Beijing witnessed by Nobel Hofer, Austrian Federal Minister of Transport Innovation and Technology, Margaret Schlumberger, Austrian Minister of Digitalization and Economic Location, and Christopher Wright, Chairman of austrian federal economic chamber. This is also the signing of an intergovernmental memorandum of scientific and technological cooperation between our province and the sixth country (region) and the establishment of an industrial joint R&D plan, which opens a new chapter in the scientific and technological cooperation between Zhejiang and Austria.
According to the spirit of the memorandum, the two sides will cooperate on Industry-University-Research and technology transfer in the fields of information and communication, smart cities, new materials, intelligent manufacturing and environmental protection.
