One soil nourishes one person, and a museum affects a city.
Yesterday, after nearly 6 months of collection, Hangzhou Museum has added 365 sets of 3,752 pieces of collection —— covering bills, painting and calligraphy, ceramics, folk customs, silk weaving, books, stamps, red revolutionary cultural relics and other categories. These collections are all donated by Hangzhou citizens for free! This time, Hangzhou people use one “precious story” to spell out the “Hangzhou memory” since 1912.
The reporter saw some representative collections. For example, in the 1930s, one of the founder of xileng seal society Ye Weiming couple photo, 1929 the Hangzhou west lake tour guide, in 1947,1948 Shanghai and Hangzhou taste friendship together, 1957-1984 provinces and food stamps, the 1970s dawn primary school personal certificates, etc., multi-angle show the modern Hangzhou citizens in politics, economy, culture, life, etc.
“This cowhide case of the Republic of China was my grandmother’s dowry, and the shell was wrapped in a layer of pure cowhide with the words” Made by Liu Tongyu, Huihui Hall, Zhejiang Province “printed on it.” Ms. Wu Tingting donated the cowhide case and the West Lake brand sewing machine. In the last century, most people bought their own clothes, which were tailored by tailors. A sewing machine can be described as a “big piece” in the family. At that time, the “three turns” (watches and bicycles) and “one ring” (radio), including sewing machines, supported the dignity of girls’ dowry. The “West Lake” sewing machines made in Hangzhou were all the rage at that time.
On behalf of his grandfather Qiu Rongxing, Mr. Jiang Ling donated 45 pieces of cheongsam, handmade belts in the Republic of China, etc. He said that three of the ribbons were made by Qiu Rongxing’s mother for marriage before 1932. In the old days, few of the ribbons were produced in large quantities, so the bride knitted them by herself as a dowry. From rags and bags, to the ribbons used to bind water rags when a child was born, they were all made of self woven ribbons. Every stitch was intended. “At that time, people in Hangzhou had the custom of weaving ribbons for dowry. My grandfather had visited several exhibitions. The only thing related to marriage was the lack of finished handmade ribbons.”
Before her retirement, Zha Yongling was a research librarian and director of the Collection Department of Zhejiang Provincial Museum. She has been engaged in research and utilization of collections for many years. “These commemorative medals with Chairman Mao’s head are all collected and preserved in the 1960s, and they are the witness of the trend of the last century. The three constitutions of the CPC, 1987, 1997 and 2002, are well preserved.”
The construction of the “Museum City” needs to mobilize all social forces to participate. In 2021, the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hangzhou Museum, Hangzhou Expo launched the “Million Collection” plan, hoping to collect 1 million pieces of material evidence and documentary evidence collections from Hangzhou citizens since 1912 to show the life traces of Hangzhou people, have a strong imprint of Hangzhou culture, and reflect the development and construction of Hangzhou, and create a “museum for the people” that leaves, records, and displays Hangzhou’s history and memory.
Yesterday, Hangzhou Museum issued a donation certificate to the first donation representative; On the same day, the second phase of the “Millions of Collections” plan was launched, which will continue to collect physical evidence from the society reflecting the urban construction changes and lifestyle changes in modern Hangzhou, and especially launch the collection of non physical images, images and sounds, which can be the private collection of Hangzhou food maps, or the buildings and corners that have been photographed and now disappeared, or even the dialects, hawking sounds, bus and subway stop announcements in Hangzhou, For details, please follow the “Million Collection @ Hangbo” applet.
