Progressive magazines read and treasured by Jiangshan people during the May 4th Movement
This afternoon, Quzhou Revolutionary Cultural Relics Exhibition was held in the municipal museum to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The exhibition is hosted by Quzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and undertaken by Quzhou Museum, Jiangshan Museum and Kaihua County Cultural Relics Management Institute. This exhibition will display nearly 200 precious local revolutionary cultural relics and revolutionary documents, some of which are first published. From the recovery of Quzhou in the Revolution of 1911 to the May 4th Movement, the Northern Expedition of the National Revolutionary Army, the establishment of the party organization and the armed struggle of the CPC, to the liberation of Quzhou in May 1949, each exhibit embodies the revolutionary history of the sons and daughters of Sanqu.

Among the exhibits in this exhibition are leaflets printed by the Political Department of the General Headquarters of the East Road Army of the National Revolutionary Army; There are progressive magazines such as New Youth and New Trends that Jiangshan people read during the May 4th Movement; There are military symbols of the Second Division of the Thirteenth Red Army organized by Comrade Zheng Nong in Longyou, Lanxi and Tangxi Border Regions in 1931; When Quzhou was liberated, the cadres who went south used the Learning Outline of Urban Takeover, etc. It is understood that these precious exhibits are all from Quzhou Museum, Jiangshan Museum and Kaihua County Cultural Administration Office, as well as the original of the Eight Chapters of the Constitution, the Journal of the First General Assembly of Xikou Youth Association and other exhibits. They were introduced in detail in the “Sanqu Tales” column of Quzhou Daily, and were created by Wang Hanlong, Chen Hua, and other folk collectors in our city.
The exhibition will last until early September.
