During the 14th Five-year Plan period, Zhejiang province plans to build 1,000 rural museums. Of these, no less than 400 companies are planned to be built by 2022. This year, Shaoxing’s “40 new rural museums” were also included in the government work report. So, what is a village museum? What are the characteristics of the rural museum construction in Shaoxing? How can rural museums help rural get rich? The reporter conducted an investigation and interview.
More than 200 rural museums are open in the Vietnamese countryside
Memorial Hall of Shaoxing Independent Branch of Qixian Village, Qixian Street, Keqiao District, Hecheng Local Culture Museum, Taihu Village, Yuecheng District, Xu’ao Battle Memorial Hall, Xuao Village, Lingnan Township, Shangyu District… these, located in the countryside, with different names and exhibitions, will soon welcome the unified named —— Village Museum.
What is a village museum? The reporter understands, the so-called rural museum, which is located within the scope of the country, inheriting the Chinese excellent traditional culture, carry forward the socialist core values, focusing on display, dissemination, collection and inheriting regional history and culture, characteristic culture, revolutionary culture and rural production and living, intangible protection, industrial development witness, open to the public, with the function of the museum of cultural venues.
This year, Zhejiang Province plans to build no less than 400 rural museums, which will be included in the livelihood projects, of which Shaoxing needs to complete 26. Recently, the reporter learned from Shaoxing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism that this year Shaoxing plans to build 60 rural museums, exceeding the 40 mentioned in the government work report, and 26 of them will be selected and reported to the province.
Shaoxing takes the lead in the construction of rural museums. In 2021, Shaoxing proposed to build the “Three Hundred Projects” of Shaoxing culture. It is planned to activate more than 100 former residences of celebrities, cultivate 100 rural museums and upgrade 100 boutique libraries within three years. Last year, 10 rural museums completed the acceptance.
Salvage celebrity culture, dig red roots, and keep homesick memories … The rural museum is not a new thing that has only appeared in the last two years. In the process of rural revitalization, rural museums in Shaoxing have mushroomed and are widely distributed throughout the city. It is understood that at present, more than 200 rural museums have been established in the city, with venues of more than 80,000 square meters and more than 20,000 pieces of various collections. Now, they have ushered in the identification of identity.
Among many rural museums, the Hehu Local Culture Museum in Hehu Village, Doumen Street, Yuecheng District was built in 2011 and is one of the earlier rural museums. Last week, the reporter came to Hehu Village. The open cultural square is backed by a hill, with winding trails leading to a secluded spot, and the lotus pond on the side shows green leaves. Together with these scenes, it is the Hehu Local Culture Museum. This museum was converted from an old factory building, and it is antique. This is a museum that mainly displays farming civilization. After the renovation in 2017, there are more than 1,600 exhibits of different types, which is enough for tourists to feast their eyes.
Wang Xianghua is a native of Hehu Village and the administrator of this museum. She said that in order to keep homesickness, in the process of rural construction, Hehu Village consciously collected old objects from villagers’ homes. These old objects include common farm tools, as well as beautifully shaped porcelain and tin ware. Along with the development of the times, phonographs, tape recorders, TV sets, DVDs and other objects are also displayed one by one, from which we can see the passage of time, the progress of science and technology and the continuous improvement of villagers’ living standards.
As soon as the Lotus Lake Local Culture Museum was built, many neighboring villages came to visit. In the follow-up operation process, a large number of teams come to visit every year, mainly teachers and students of the school. They learn about farming culture and inherit the memory of local culture. The villagers also come here to seek roots in their spare time. According to an elderly man, there is her dowry here. Looking at those old things, the years of youth come to mind.
The museum houses all kinds of homesickness.
On the basis of state-owned museums and non-state-owned museums, the existence of rural museums has realized the extension of cultural venues construction from cities to villages; At present, rural libraries and rural cultural auditoriums are widely owned in rural areas, and rural museums have achieved diversified development of rural culture.
There are more than 200 rural museums in Shaoxing, which can be described as “rich in family resources”. However, in the actual operation process, there are also a series of problems, such as insufficient exhibits, inadequate facilities management and inadequate staffing.
“With this opportunity, we ask the built rural museum to carry out’ micro-renovation’ and’ fine upgrading’ on the original basis, so as to meet the daily visit needs of villagers and foreign tourists, give full play to the value of the rural museum, and become a window to show the appearance, history and culture of the village.” Liang Zhiyuan, director of Museum Division of Wenguang Tourism Bureau, said.
This year’s evaluation of rural museums is divided into five items: infrastructure, comprehensive management, exhibition, social services, and fine upgrading, which also covers the inspection items such as building area, building environment, management personnel, and display content. The scoring system is adopted, with a full score of 100 points.
“According to this scoring standard, it is easy to find problems and improve them in time. For example, as mentioned in it, the number of exhibits should be at least 50 to 100 pieces (sets), and specialized management personnel should be equipped, etc., which are easier to achieve. As a cultural public facility in the countryside, the entry threshold is relatively low. From the perspective of encouragement, guidance and promotion, we can make rural museums popular in the countryside to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of villagers and tourists. ” Liang Zhiyuan said.
In the actual construction process, Liang Zhiyuan also mentioned that the construction of rural museums must adapt to local conditions, pay attention to characteristics, and don’t simply copy and follow the same pattern.
Among many rural museums, many venues are eye-catching, such as Fuquan Farming Cultural Center in Xushan Village, Fuquan Street, Keqiao District. It was rebuilt from an old granary, and the historical features of the building structure of the room-type granary and the earth-round granary added a sense of history to the exhibition hall. According to the villagers, Xushan Granary was idle after 2017. In order to better manage and use these distinctive granaries and promote the spread of farming history and culture, Fuquan Street actively communicated with the higher authorities, started the granary renovation plan, and transformed this granary into Fuquan Farming Cultural Center.
Besides making use of idle farmhouses and abandoned buildings to suit local conditions, the characteristic display of rural museums’ contents is even more important.
“Every village has a unique history and unique cultural imprint. For example, like some villages, celebrities come forth in large numbers; Some characteristic villages were once representative villages of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery; There are also some villages that inherit a certain industry; Others have splendid intangible culture, and so on. For different types of villages, the construction of rural museums should be different. In the process of construction, we should pay attention to excavating history, reflecting the characteristics of the village and refining the spiritual connotation of the village. ” Liang Zhiyuan emphasized.
From the existing rural museums in Shaoxing, you can see many excellent cases. Such as Shangxiang Village Master Memorial Exhibition Hall in Mashan Street, Yuecheng District, Nanqiaotou Village, Sunduan Street, Yuecheng District, Lu Xun’s grandmother’s house facing the north gate exhibition hall, Wang Yangming’s ancestral residence exhibition hall in Hongxi Village, Chenxi Township, Shangyu District, the Luantan Exhibition Hall in Shiliping Village West Road, Donghe Township, Zhuji City, and the birthplace exhibition hall of Yue Opera in Dongwang Village, Ganlin Town, Shengzhou City, etc.
These venues have distinctive local characteristics, and they are indispensable in Shaoxing museum system, from which we can learn about local customs.
Add a “village blog” engine to the integration of rural cultural tourism.
The country museum gives some old objects a new life here, and gives people a new habitat for their spiritual life.
Besides the visible homesickness, what other functions should the rural museum have? Liang Zhiyuan introduced that Zhejiang vigorously promoted the construction of a demonstration zone for common prosperity and built a rural museum. Apart from serving as a window for rural culture display, its main purpose is to serve common prosperity.
Some experts also mentioned that opening up the “last mile” of public cultural services of rural museums through cultural empowerment can not only meet the needs of villagers’ spiritual prosperity, but also become an important carrier for developing rural cultural tourism to realize enriching the people and strengthening the village.
In the actual operation process, many villages have already enjoyed the traffic dividend brought by the rural museum. Xiaoshunjiang Village, Pingshui Town, Keqiao District, is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery. The Party History Museum under the Ridge of Xiaoshunjiang Village is located here. At present, the venue here is operated by Zhejiang Red Fanghua Wenlv Development Co., Ltd., which has achieved remarkable results, and has become one of the classic cases of rural museums in realizing villagers’ common prosperity and income generation.
“To promote the local economy, the rural museum can start with its own functionality and extension.” Zhang Wenbo, the head of Zhejiang Fanghua Wenlv Development Co., Ltd., shared. In order to revitalize this red scenic spot, he added a lot of services in the operation, such as changing military uniforms, marching along the ancient road, watching red movies, experiencing revolutionary farm dishes, and so on. In the process of marching along the ancient road, five village attractions under the jurisdiction of Wanghuapian in Pingshui Town were connected in series to learn agriculture, history, army, literature and art, thus realizing the villagers’ common prosperity.
The Memorial Hall of Shaoxing Independent Branch of the Communist Party of China, located in Qixian Village, Qi Xian Street, Keqiao District, was completed and opened in May 2018. It is a red education base. On the spring day when the grass flies, the memorial hall is surrounded by a piece of green. The neat road surface, open lawn, winding trails and the ancient memorial hall complement each other.
In March, 1926, Shaoxing Independent Branch of the Communist Party of China was established here. It was one of the earliest party organizations in Zhejiang Province, which also injected red genes into the beautiful landscape of Qi Xian. According to the administrator, after the opening of the Memorial Hall of Shaoxing Independent Branch of the Communist Party of China in Qixian Village, there are an endless stream of tourists visiting every year. In 2021, the centenary of the founding of the Party was celebrated, and the venue ushered in the peak of passenger flow, with the number of visitors exceeding 20,000 throughout the year.
How to make good use of this venue and make it the golden key to rural prosperity? Fang Guoquan, a member of the Street Party Working Committee of Qi Xian, has his own ideas.
“Local villagers, especially local young people, can learn about the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s party history and Shaoxing’s revolutionary history, which will help them to establish a correct belief in life and carry forward the spirit of hard struggle. First of all, spiritual common prosperity; Secondly, red education can be made into a red economy and give birth to some formats. ” From an unknown village to now, more and more people come to visit “Punch-in”, and Fang Guoquan has seen how to get rich.
“Qixian Village has a good geographical advantage, with newly-built high-speed crossings, well-developed traffic, and scenic spots such as yangshan Park and Shicheng in yangshan. Now, thanks to the east wind of Hangzhou Asian Games, the rock climbing venue of Qi Xian Asian Games has been checked and accepted, and now there are many visitors. Besides these advantages, Qixian Village will also build an Asian Games theme park, an aerospace base, a sailing base, etc. near the memorial hall, thus forming a tour route, allowing tourists to visit for a longer time, and then operating with farmhouses, agricultural products and homestays to realize income generation. ” Fang Guoquan told reporters that at present, there are also third-party companies willing to participate in the project operation, which can realize standardized and scientific management.
Zhuji is rich in red resources, similar to Qixian Village. Xidai Village, Ciwu Town, Zhuji City, and Xiafu Village, diankou town, because of the existence of Yu Xiusong Memorial Hall and Xuan Xiafu Exhibition Hall, in recent years, there have been an endless stream of tourists coming to visit, and the village features have been obviously improved.
“While further enriching the exhibition and telling good stories, the rural museum should focus on the follow-up operation, realize standardized management, and become a model for the integration of rural cultural tourism, so that the museum can be alive, active and popular.” Liang Zhiyuan said. These rural museums will complete unified licensing in the next step, which will contribute to Shaoxing’s construction of a museum city.
