Yesterday, “jade soul country soul —— Jingzhou Chu cemetery and noble tomb unearthed jade exhibition” opened in Hangzhou West Lake Museum. The exhibition collects nearly 302 pieces (sets) of fine jade products, reproducing the charm and style of Chu-style jade articles. The exhibition runs until March 1,2019.
The exquisite jade articles displayed in this exhibition are all from the tombs of the Kings of Chu in the Warring States Period. Xiong Jia tomb, No.1 Tomb in Fengjiawan, No.2 Tomb in Qinjiashan and No.1 Tomb in wangshan Bridge are the representatives of noble tombs. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Chinese ancient jade entered a new stage of development. Chu-style jade carvings stand out from the Central Plains, Qin, Yue, Yi, and Zhongshan-style jade carvings, representing the highest level of jade wares in the Warring States Period.(Reporter, Zhou Chunchun, correspondent MAO Yingying)
