These days, employees of Ningbo Beifa Group worked overtime to make orders from European customers. The person in charge of the company told the reporter that in the first two months of this year, the company’s exports increased by 149% year-on-year.
The reporter learned from Ningbo Customs that in the first two months of this year, the total import and export volume of Ningbo reached 170.51 billion yuan, an increase of 48.6% compared with the same period of last year. Among them, exports were 111.42 billion yuan, up by 53.4%, and imports were 59.09 billion yuan, up by 40.3%.
“In addition to the growth brought by the development of the industry itself, the’ opening the door’ in the first two months was obviously affected by two special factors.” The relevant person in charge of Ningbo Customs pointed out that, on the one hand, the import and export of Ningbo decreased by 19.3% in the first two months of last year due to the COVID-19 epidemic, and the low base was one of the reasons for the large increase this year; On the other hand, “On-the-spot Chinese New Year” has greatly reduced the number of people returning home for the Chinese New Year, saving workers’ return time, and enterprises will be put into production immediately after the Spring Festival holiday.
In terms of market division, the European Union (excluding Britain, the same below), the United States and ASEAN are the top three trading partners of Ningbo. From January to February, Ningbo’s imports and exports to the European Union, the United States and ASEAN increased by 56.4%, 77.7% and 34.3% respectively. In addition, Ningbo’s import and export to countries along the “the belt and road initiative” reached 45.73 billion yuan, an increase of 33.9%, accounting for 26.8% of Ningbo’s total import and export value in the same period.
The continuous compression of customs clearance time and the continuous optimization of business environment have contributed a lot to the rapid growth of Ningbo’s foreign trade. According to reports, in 2020, Ningbo Customs will further promote the reform of the “two-step declaration” customs clearance mode, and improve the functions of the “two-step declaration” in such business areas as tariff guarantee, customs clearance, bulk cargo, etc., and the declaration ratio will show a step-by-step increase. In the first two months of this year, the application rate of “two-step declaration” has reached 35%, up about 29% year-on-year.
Ningbo, March 10 (correspondent Ge Wen, reporter Wang Kaiyi, Zhang Fan) According to the latest production express, in February this year, Ningbo Zhoushan Port completed a container throughput of 2.35 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 52.4%, setting the best result in the same period in history.
The big-step growth data is a vivid footnote written by Ningbo Zhoushan Port actively integrating into the new development pattern. The export demand caused by the epidemic abroad made February, which was the off-season of port transportation, very busy. Facing the peak of logistics, Ningbo Zhoushan Port gives full play to the hub advantage of the world’s largest port, continuously weaves the dense route network, and adds two ocean trunk lines, with a total of 262 container routes; Continue to strive for the source of empty boxes, and the volume of imported empty boxes increased by 79.3% year-on-year; We made every effort to provide excellent domestic and overseas trade services, and the domestic and overseas trade business increased by 126.4% year-on-year. At the same time, Ningbo Zhoushan Port continued to exert its efforts in sea-rail combined transport, actively communicated with shipping companies, and ensured the shipment volume of empty containers. In that month, the business volume of sea-rail combined transport increased by 73.2% year-on-year, a record high in monthly business volume.
Smart port construction provides strong support. Ningbo Zhoushan Port realized the operation mode of “unloading and lifting+direct lifting of vehicles and ships” in Meidong Company through digital means. Through the close cooperation of shipping agency, shipping company and external yard, the overall customs clearance time was shortened, and the imported empty containers were arranged to be transported out of the port at the first time, thus reducing the stacking pressure on the site. By using big data resources, the “last mile” of container information interconnection has been opened, realizing paperless operation of container import and export business, visualization of logistics nodes, and transparency of data information, and improving the full-load rate of container trucks and terminal operation efficiency.
